Kondalilla Falls, Montville, Australia
After nearly three weeks of consistent rainfall across the Sunshine Coast, I knew the waterfalls of the hinterland would be at their most beautiful.
With the weather finally clearing, I set off at 5am towards Kondalilla National Park, arriving just after sunrise.
The 4.7km rainforest circuit took me through lush greenery, towering trees and several beautiful waterfalls, each brought to life by the recent rainfall.
Along the way i discovered this peaceful cascade, surrounded by vibrant forest and flowing over dark, moss covered rocks into the pool below.
I named this photograph Sylvara, inspired by the Latin word silva, meaning forest.
Spending two and a half hours exploring the rainforest alone, with nothing but the sounds of flowing water and nature, was an experience I’ll remember.
Sylvara captures the tranquillity, natural beauty and timeless atmosphere of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
