Some nights become memorable for more than the photographs we bring home.
My journey to Howell’s Knob Lookout began in the late afternoon, leaving the Sunshine Coast around 4 pm and arriving an hour later. Having never visited this location before, I was excited to discover what the evening might reveal.
As the light faded, I met a couple staying in a campervan and two men setting up their telescopes in anticipation of the night sky. What began as a brief introduction turned into hours of conversation, photography and shared appreciation for the universe above us.
We remained at the lookout until midnight, watching the stars emerge and capturing the beauty of the night sky. It was during this same evening that I photographed Astral Reverie, making the experience even more special.
Nocturne is a reflection of that night — a reminder that some of the most meaningful moments happen when we slow down, look up and allow ourselves to be immersed in the wonders of the universe.
